Glad they won't have Kesler for the playoffs this year

Nice read JJ. Seems like a high price for RK, to me at least. Seems to open a few other holes… What do you think?

Probably includes more than Kesler coming back.

This makes sense, I don't buy for a second that SB didn't inquire and put an offer on the table for Kesler. However to me it always seemed like he had a better chance of moving in the offseason then at the TDL. Not sure if the Hawks land him in the offseason but they sure have a better chance at doing so then more so than they did now.

With news that the cap might not be rising as much as initially first thought because of the weak Canadian dollar, I expect either one or both of Bickell and Oduya to be dealt at the draft to create cap room.

However I think while Kane's first comments of resigning weren't a slam dunk, I think there's a 99% chance it gets done. SB said just recently that it will get done, I think the parameters are already set. I'd expect #19 and #88 to sign their extensions shorty before the convention.

Very interesting. But just thinking about the concept of Kane only wanting to stay if he gets Kesler kinda pisses me off. Hope its not true.

Any draft day trade is going to be influenced by how they do in the post season.

If the Hawks go deep into the post-season, there will be no need or pressure to make a Kessler size deal.

Hell, there isn't any pressure now. Stan didn't do anything and the press are pretty much blasting the fans for wanting a deal…..

I highly doubt Stan would trade TT for anyone, let alone a crumbling beauty like Kessler. He's no longer Kes-lord like he was in 2010.

But there's a month and a post season to deal with before any of that…..

Totally agree. I dont see us needing any sort of major move unless we embarrassingly get bounced in the 1st round or something like that which would force the FO under pressure to do something.

At lunch, Sportsnet reported that Canuck Management prevented Gillis from trading Kesler.

23rd in penalty killing. Where were they last year? Does that matter? Umm, yeah.

If Patrick Kane prefers to play with a proven commodity over a kid who might end up . . . a right wing . . . and his re-signing could be impacted by it . . . then yeah, that could make a difference.

But some people just want to take shots.

why would Kane EVER want to leave Chicago where he is the biggest celebrity in the city, has won 2 cups, and has an amazing supporting cast around him. Keith, Kane, Seabrook, and Toews will all retire as Blackhawks after raising another 2-3 Stanley Cups.

I'd certainly hope so

If the offer was Ryan Kesler for all of that? No thanks, I'll pass that up very quickly.

Though, to consider the rumour, I wouldn't be surprised that when Gillis gets canned, if this Kesler rumour still is hanging around at the end of the season, maybe there is a more reasonable possibility that the Hawks go after Kesler.

I know it might hurt his value if he plays, but, I can't be the only one that still wants to see TT on the ice in North America before launching him....right?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Those of you that are here saying that we have TT and these plethora of prospects coming up and that they shouldn't be traded are delusional.

Keith is into his 30's
Seabrook is close
Sharp is as well
Hossa has a few seasons left

This team needs to be looking at moves to win RIGHT NOW. Kesler brings them the second line center this team has needed for years and Kane should be demanding. Kesler is an elite center who fills so many holes.

I, for one, hope they do make a push for Kesler.

Because of his jersey I am not curreently a Kesler fan, but in red with the Indian head I would sure would be a fan HUGE hurry. TT and $1.50 guarantees me a small coffee. Kesler and $1.50 guanrantees a small coffee and that the Hawks have a top end, ready made 1 2 punch at center for the next 5 years.

Because he's already won two cups and make money.

In this next free agency deal he should be seeking max dollars.

I thought they were going to have trouble getting Johns into the fold.
That he basically wants to do a Justin Schultz and then go to Pitt.
